Symptoms of ADHD most people miss
In addition to the core symptoms, there are other symptoms of ADHD that are often missed or overlooked. These include:
- Emotional dysregulation: Individuals with ADHD may experience intense and unpredictable emotions. They may have difficulty regulating their emotions, leading to frequent mood swings, irritability, and impulsivity in emotional responses.
- Executive functioning challenges: ADHD can affect executive functions, such as planning, organising, and prioritising tasks. Individuals with ADHD may struggle with time management, forget deadlines, have difficulty initiating or completing tasks, and experience challenges in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Working memory deficits: Working memory involves holding and manipulating information in mind for short-term use. People with ADHD may have difficulties with working memory, leading to forgetfulness, difficulties following multi-step instructions, and challenges in learning and retaining new information.
