Indicators of Abuse

Identifying indicators of abuse requires a keen eye for detail and a compassionate approach. These indicators vary based on the type of abuse and can manifest physically, emotionally, or behaviorally. Some indicators may be more subtle than others, and it’s often the combination of these signs that provides a clearer picture.

Physical Indicators: Unexplained injuries, bruises, marks, or unattended medical issues

Behavioral Indicators: Changes in behaviour, sudden withdrawal, heightened anxiety, depression, or aggressive outbursts

Emotional Indicators: Low self-esteem, constant fear, mood swings, and expressions of distress
